145 Acre Eco-Friendly Farm & Woodlands |
It’s a hectic life and sometimes you just need to recharge your batteries and slow down a bit.
Our two elegantly furnished cottages, Pinecone and Honeysuckle, high atop the Cumberland Plateau on a stagecoach run that crossed our 145 acre farm and woodlands in the 1800s, offer the perfect romantic get away or family retreat, far from crowds yet close to lakes, waterfalls, restaurants and local attractions.
Luxuriate in an outdoor hot tub on your private deck at night while you gaze at starry skies far from city lights, play horseshoes and checkers and enjoy a summer campfire at your own cowboy style fire pit. Explore the farm’s Fern Forest and forest trails, watch fireflies blink and enjoy the magic of the moment. Gas up the grill and relax on your mountain view deck. Summer days offer nearby opportunities for swimming, fishing, riding, hiking and exploring the rich historial and cultural heritage of the region and cool summer nights invite you to open the windows, turn off the AC and let the sounds of the country lull you to sleep.
Guests are welcome to tour our family's nearby organic garden each summer and pick blueberries in season. The property is home to deer, red fox, possum, squirrels and wild turkeys. For over thirty years, our family has followed organic and environmentally friendly policies and our mountain hide-away offers refuge to a large assortment of butterflies, lightenings bugs (firefiles), and a wide diversity of birds including hawks, woodpeckers, cardinals, bluebirds, house wrens, hummingbirds and more. Our farm’s secluded spring fed pond is full of brim (bream) and bass so bring your poles or borrow ours (no license required).
Watts Bar Lake is only 10 miles away and offers a variety of fishing, boating and swimming facilities. Nearby are horse trail rides and trailheads to the Cumberland Trail with spectacular seasonal waterfalls. Whites Creek just down the road offers world class kayaking and nearby Piney River Park has great old timey swimming holes and river walking.
Our country roads invite you to explore the beauty and history of the Cumberland Plateau and surrounding rural valleys and just a meandering country drive away you’ll find gourmet restaurants, marinas, crafts, bluegrass, antique hunting, historical sites, Fall Creek Falls State Park, Golf, horse shows and the nationally acclaimed Cumberland Theatre Playhouse offering Broadway and local Appalachian productions in an intimate country setting.
Farmhouse catering with cottage delivery service is offered Thursdays through Sundays including delicious all natural homemade pizzas, garden salads in season, homemade breads, and our very popular "Hot Biscuits and Jam Picnic" delivered right to your cottage door or if you prefer a full country breakfast on our farmhouse porch.
